Bill Hinely provides management consultation and related services to organizations of various types in a variety of industries and associations. Clients include private and public organizations and range from closely held domestic firms to International Fortune 500 companies. They represent manufacturers, distributors, sales and marketing organizations, consumer and commercial service companies, and various types of retailers.


Competence Based on Real-World Experience
Hinely's knowledge and abilities can be attributed to his lifelong study of individual and organizational performance as well as his broad base of extensive management experience. After 12 years of retail management experience, which included a successful turn-around of a near bankrupt company while still in college, he was called on by Yamaha International Company to incorporate his methods into management programs for its authorized retailers. It was the late 1970's, interest rates were in the high teens and inflation was rampant, the business environment could not have been more challenging for smaller independent business. His programs helped many fledging retailers to survive and even more to prosper. By 1982 he was selected to head Yamaha's newly-formed Training Division.
A year later he was appointed General Manager of a sales and marketing division that was losing money. The division was profitable in six months. Three years later sales had more than tripled and profit contribution was in the teens, yet the number of retail distributors had not increased. Before leaving to form his own consultancy in 1991 he took charge of and successfully managed four other divisions at Yamaha. When he departed - Yamaha became his first client.

Hinely is highly regarded for his remarkable ability in assessing and diagnosing organizational problems and then prescribing dramatically effective solutions. His approach however, differs somewhat from more traditional methods. While cost containment is essential he believes there are significant unrealized opportunities for the many organizations that misdirect or under utilize human, financial, and other critical resources. Ineffective and inefficient processes and business systems can drain an organization's vitality while severely taxing management and diminishing customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Through his consulting; research and assessment services; as well as his training, lecturing and newsletters; he has helped managers and business executives build organizations whose performance produce sustained profitability and growth.
